Beginning in 1996, when his article "Yonge at 200" was published by
The Beaver, Rae Fleming has had five articles on the subject of Canadian
history included in that magazine. His topics include a history of Yonge
Street, Toronto, on the occasion of its 200th birthday; Dr James King, the man
who brought forth the first old age pension plan; a history of steamboating on
Lake Simcoe, illustrated by the art of Duncan Macpherson; Frank Tyrell, a
photographer with the National Film Board; and most recently, an article called
